Krissia Thaiane is a New Jersey–based fiber artist working with traditional punch needle, knitting, crochet, and embroidery techniques. Her practice centers on abstract form and color, using textile processes historically associated with women’s domestic labor to create work situated firmly within a contemporary visual landscape. By repurposing these techniques, Krissia pushes against conventional boundaries of craft, reframing fiber as a medium for formal exploration rather than utility.

Her work emphasizes texture, repetition, and material presence, allowing process and structure to guide each composition. Through abstraction, she resists narrative and ornamentation, focusing instead on the physicality of fiber and the visual impact of color relationships.

Krissia Thaiane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Rutgers University. She lives and works in New Jersey.
